Meet the Team

  • Michael Bowman - General Manager
    • General Manager

      Michael has been married to his lovely wife Annetta for over 18 years and is the proud step-father of three grown boys. He was born and raised in Ogden, Utah, a graduate of Ogden High School and attended Weber State University.
      After high school and during college Michael worked in various restaurants as a maitre’d and waiter. He worked in the hotel industry for over twenty years, for such hotels as Rock Resorts, Hilton and Marriott. He was the Catering Director for the Ogden Marriott during the 2002 Winter Olympics, hosting Panasonic Corporation as a primary sponsor. Michael worked at the Ogden Golf & Country Club for almost 7 years as the General Manager. Interestingly enough, after joining the Club he learned that his Great Grandfather was one of the founding (established in 1914) fathers of the Ogden Golf & Country Club and served as Club President for 2 terms in the 1920’s. Michael enjoys all types of outdoor recreation, including cycling and golf. By far, his favorite is the wide open spaces of Montana bird hunting with his pointing dogs.

  • Sharlys Burnett - Bar Manager and Co Catering Director

      .Sharlys has been with Meadow Lark Country Club since April of 1994. From 1994 to 2008 she worked part-time as a food server in the formal dining room. In 2008 she was promoted to the position of bar manager and has been a full-time employee since. Sharlys has over 30 years of experience in the food and beverage industry. She started her career at the age of fourteen working in a small family owned restaurant located in Glenwood, Oregon. While working there an elderly gentleman gave her this piece of advice “Honey, always stay in the food business because people have to eat.” It must have been good advice because she has never been unemployed. Sharlys was born here in Great Falls. She moved to Springfield, Oregon as a young girl and is a graduate of Springfield High. As a young woman she moved back to Great Falls to be near her sister and mother. She has two children and three grandchildren.  Her son (Tayler), daughter (Sharlyn) and grandchildren (Aleah, Kingston and Pharaoh) all live in Eugene, Oregon.  Sharlys enjoys music, art, reading and spending time with family. She has been a violist in the Great Falls Youth Symphony since 1998. She also enjoys drawing portraits in pencil.

  • Kim Burrall - HR and Office Manager
    • Office Manager

      Kim Burrall began as Office Manager at Meadow Lark Country Club in June 2008, and in addition became the Human Resources Manager in September 2010. A 13-year Country Club employee, she began working part time in the Golf Shop and eventually became the Golf Shop Manager before moving into the Business Office. She feels very blessed to have an opportunity to serve the members, as well as the employees from all the different departments and loves the variety and challenges the job presents each day. Kim and her husband Michael have 3 married children and 3 grandsons who they love spending time with.

  • Chuck Roberts - Building Engineer
    • Building Engineer

      Chuck began as the Building Engineer at Meadow Lark CC in August 2007. He has been in the maintenance industry for over 30 years. After graduating from Liberty High School he entered the Air Force as a Heating, Ventilating & Air Conditioning/ Refrigeration Technician.When he retired from the Air Force he switched careers to become a Low Voltage Electrician. He worked at this for 8 years before coming to work here. Chuck was born in Big Neck, Illinois (Population 9, 3 after my family moved). He has been married for 21 years to Astrid Roberts (born in Germany) and his children are the Exchange students they host. The variety of work performed everyday is his favorite part of his job.

  • Richard Schafer - Executive Chef
    • Executive Chef

      Chef Richard Schafer grew up in Berea, KY. He began his culinary career there at the historic Boone Tavern and the local butcher shop. After attending the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York he has managed to work and explore the culinary differences in many regions of this nation as well as France. His career covers small inns, boutique Hotels, and exclusive resorts. He considers himself a consummate chef, technically trained and very skilled, and his culinary philosophy is driven by his desire to share that skill with both his staff and the members and guests that he serves. He is most proud of his family, his wife Lisse , two grown sons, and his beloved dogs. He is looking forward to meeting the needs and culinary desires of the Meadow Lark Members and their families and friends but is most anxious to wet a few lines in the nearby rivers. He begrudges no one their love of Golf but he is most happy to now call Montana home where he can have access to all the trout that he can catch.

  • Tim Furan - Superintendant
    • Superintendent

      Tim began as the golf course superintendent at MLCC in October of 2005. He has been on a grounds crew every year since he graduated from Great Falls High School in 1995. Tim graduated from Montana State University with a degree in Horticulture-Turfgrass Science in 2000. During his time at MSU he completed internships at the Powder Horn Golf Club in Sheridan, Wyoming under Mike Saffel, and at MLCC under Tom Ask. Tim's favorite part of being superintendent at MLCC is never missing a sunrise at such a beautiful course along the Missouri River. In his spare time, Tim enjoys coaching, snowshoeing, hiking, attending MSU football games, and anything sports related.

  • Dudley Beard - Head Golf Professional
    • Head Golf Professional

      Dudley Beard has been the Head Golf Professional at Meadow Lark Country Club since 1986. Dudley played college golf at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, where his father Dudley Sr. was the golf coach and registrar. Dudley spent five years working as an assistant golf professional in Palm Springs, Ca. and in Steamboat Springs, Co. and has been a Class A Member of the PGA of America for 30 years. Dudley has been voted “Merchandiser of the Year” for the WMCPGA on five different occasions, was selected Golf Professional of the Year for the Western Montana Chapter PGA in 2007, and honored with the Bill Strausbaugh Award for Club Relations by the WMC in 2009. He was presented with the Presidents Plaque Award in 2010 by the Pacific Northwest Section PGA for player development and growth of the game programs and in 2013 was the Western Montana PGA Chapter winner of the Patriot Award. Dudley also helps with the UGF Argo golf program. He has been married to his wife Tammy for 28 years and they have two children, Matthew and Natalie.

  • Michael Burrall - Assistant Golf Professional
    • Assistant Golf Professional

      Born and raised in the Midwest, Michael worked in Golf Course Maintenance at courses in Ohio and California for 17 years before moving to Great Falls in 1992. He began his career as a Golf Professional at Meadow Lark Country Club, serving as an Assistant from 1992 through the spring of 1995 when he became the Head Golf Professional at the City of Great Falls Anaconda Hills Golf Course. During his tenure at AHGC, Michael became a Class A member of the PGA of America and in 2003 was presented with the Junior Golf Leader of The Year Award by the Western Montana Chapter of the PGA. Michael returned to Meadow Lark in 2007 as 1st Assistant Professional where he is able to pursue his passion for teaching both juniors and adults. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Western Montana Chapter of the PGA, and in 2013 he was awarded the Western Montana Chapter PGA Assistant Golf Professional of the Year. He has a passion for golf history and golf course architecture and will stump the best of them regarding golf trivia. Michael is married to his wife of 34 years, Kim and they have 3 grown and married children. He is active in his church and in his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and chasing his 3 grandsons around!

  • Dirk Baker - Head Tennis Professional
    • Head Tennis Professional

      Dirk, a U.S.P.T.A. Elite professional, has been involved with the game of tennis for over 25 years as a player, teacher and successful Director of Tennis. He began his tennis career in Southern California where he was a top ranked junior with numerous tournament wins. While attending Saddleback College, he was a member of the Men’s State Championship team. He has played professional satellite tournaments in Mexico and throughout the United States as well as qualifying tournaments for World Series events. Dirk has trained and worked with many well-known tennis figures. He has worked along side Pancho Segura, former coach of Jimmy Connors and Andre Agassi; Jose’ Hugeras, former coach of Jim Courier; Wayne Bryan, father and coach of top ranked double players, Mike and Bob Bryan. He was a hitting partner for Andre Agassi and has playing experience with tennis great Rod Laver. Working at the Weil Tennis Academy in Ojai, Ca. and other facilities throughout the United States he has coached numerous junior players who reached national and international rankings preparing them for successful college careers. He has coached several U.S.T.A. adult teams from the local level to Nationals. In 2004, he was U.S.T.A. Pacific Northwest section Outstanding Tournament Director of the Year. Dirk’s enjoys working with Adults and Juniors of all ages and ability levels. He joins us here at Meadow Lark Country Club as our Head Tennis Professional. He and his wife Michele are looking to forward to enjoying all Montana has to offer.

  • Bonnie Cham-a-Koon - Assistant Tennis Professional
    • Assistant Tennis Professional

      Bonnie was born and raised in the Midwest. She began her tennis career as head coach for the High School Men’s Tennis team in Brookville, Ohio. In those 5 years, she also started the women’s program. Bonnie has been an assistant Pro in the Midwest and Georgia before working at Meadow Lark. Bonnie has been very involved in Montana Tennis and is currently a certified Provisional umpire. She has served on the MTA Board of Directors as Vice President and President. She was instrumental in bringing the USTA Schools Programs to Great Falls.

  • Casey Whyte - Dinning Services Manager and Co Catering Director
    • Dining Services Manager and Co-Catering Manager

      Casey Whyte was born and raised in Great Falls. After completing her Associates Degree in Public Relations/Communications from Montana State University in 1990, she moved to Las Vegas to pursue her passion for singing and entertaining. While in Las Vegas she became part of the Legends Show at the Sands Casino impersonating Janis Joplin and Stevie Nicks. Upon completion of the show she moved to the Philadelphia/New Jersey area where she became a presence in the Wedding , Corporate and Mitzvah Planning business working as a bandleader and planner for two major entertainment/planning companies for the last 16 years. Her last few years in Philadelphia she specialized in training and operations with select hotels and country clubs to better facilitate their training programs and implimination of special services in the industry. After 24 years of being away from Montana and her family she is happy to be home and able to bring her knowledge to the Meadow Lark Team.
