Head Tennis Professional


Jan Steenekamp, Head Tennis Professional comes to Meadow Lark from Missoula where he
has been a teaching pro for the last six years, most recently working at The Peak Racquet Club. Prior to teaching in Missoula he served as assistant coach at Eastern Washington University as well as The University of Montana. Jan loves tennis and loves growing the game. Because of this he is involved in Montana and Intermountain tennis in a variety of
ways. He currently serves as the USPTA president for the state of Montana, and is
on the USPTA Intermountain Awards Committee, the USTA Intermountain Junior Competition Committee and the USTA Intermountain Coaches Committee. During his playing days Jan was ranked the number one Junior doubles player in South Africa, and no. 6 in singles. During college he was a three time Big Sky Conference first team selection while
playing no.1 singles at UM, and was an all Southland Conference selection at The University of Louisiana - Monroe. Jan is married to his wife Johanna (Closson) who played basketball for the Lady Griz and they have a 9 month old son, Liam.



Bonnie Cham-a-Koon

Assistant Tennis Professional


Bonnie was born and raised in the Midwest. She began her tennis career as head coach for the High School Men’s Tennis team in Brookville, Ohio. In those 5 years, she also started the women’s program. Bonnie has been an assistant Pro in the Midwest and Georgia before working at Meadow Lark.


Bonnie has been very involved in Montana Tennis and is currently a certified Provisional umpire. She has served on the MTA Board of Directors as Vice President and President. She was instrumental in bringing the USTA Schools Programs to Great Falls. Contact Bonnie Cham-a-Koon
